Description: Long, narrow, marine shell gorget is highly polished. It is a sandal-sole type; the shape is similar to the sole of a shoe or sandal, although it is not flat but rather retains the curvature of the shell from which it was cut. There are three holes drilled along the longitudinal axis. One is in the approximate center and two are at the wider end. Description: Bone harpoon was probably cut from the long bone of a deer. At one end there is a drilled hole 76.1 mm diameter. The lower margin is straight and the upper margin has been cut into four barbs that are somewhat graduated in height. On the underside the interior portion of the bone is visible. Description: Small porphyry birdstone is of the pop-eye type. Eyes are round and flare out, projecting 13 mm from the head. The head ends in a tapering wedge shape with a flat bottom. The body is broad, round and relatively flat. The tail tapers straight out from the body to a rounded wedge shape. The base is carved into a saddle shape, suggesting two sets of legs. Holes are drilled through the ridges. The birdstone is black with phenocrysts (crystals) of light brown. The eyes are small cylinders that project about 8 mm from the head. Two holes were drilled prehistorically on either side of the neck, presumably for reattaching it to the body, which is missing. The fragment is very dark gray with black bands. Although the function of birdstones is unknown, they might have served as highly-decorative spearthrower weights. The bird effigy has an thin, elongated body, a long, narrow and pointed beak and a broad fan-shaped tail. The underside of the head is flat. The birdstone is gray with very dark gray bands. An incised line represents the mouth. Two cylindrical projections (3 mm high) represent eyes. The base is a short cylinder about 33 mm in diameter that projects about 12 mm from the body. There are two sets of holes drilled diagonally through the base, presumably for attaching to another surface. It very dark gray banded with black. One end is shaped to form a stylized head and neck, possibly of a bird, with a short beak. The other end forms a tail that is triangular in shape. There is a drilled hole at either end of the base, one of which goes through to the base of the tail, the other through to the base of the neck. These holes have been broken. Additional holes have been drilled in the same places from side to side. Although the function of birdstones is unknown, they might have served as highly-decorative spearthrower weights. Description: Gorget made of marine shell is a sandal-sole type; the shape is similar to the sole of a shoe or sandal, although it is not flat but rather retains the curvature of the shell from which it was cut. Engraved on the interior surface of the shell on what would be the toe of the sandal is an animal, perhaps an unborn bear cub, with an umbilical cord that follows the rim of the shell and ends near the animal's head. The heel end is white and toe end is yellowish brown in color. There are three holes drilled through the center; one is near the narrower end and two near the wider end. The gorget has been broken at the toe end and has been restored. There are two sets of two holes near where the item was broken, which were used to bring the two pieces together.
